Andrew Griffiths
Andrew is Head of Advocacy at international charity Sightsavers. His work involves leading on Sightsavers’ international advocacy priorities and supporting the development of effective advocacy in all Sightsavers Country Offices; and he leads a team based across the world including the UK, Ghana, Senegal, Kenya and India.
Starting out his career working with a UK Member of Parliament, Andrew has extensive experience in the third sector, focusing on health policy and advocacy roles. He is published on a number of topics including nutrition in fragile states, reform of the World Health Organization, disability policy and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
Andrew currently co-chairs the Bond SDGs Group, working to influence the UK government’s implementation of the UN SDGs, and sits on the board of the International Council for Education of People with Visual Impairment. He previously co-chaired the Beyond 2015 campaign from 2014-2016; a global civil society campaign on the development of the SDGs.
Andrew is in the final stages of a PhD in History at the University of Nottingham. He attends Holy Trinity with St John’s church in Penge, where he is treasurer and occasional preacher.
